How to check the firmware version of R9:

Settings - About device (pull to the bottom) - View version number

R9 supports two upgrade methods:

1. Online upgrade

R9 is connected to WiFi. If a new version is detected, it will prompt a new version

update in the notification bar. Click to enter the update page. You can also go to

the "Technical Support" - "Firmware Upgrade" page and manually click Check for

Updates to confirm whether there is a new version.

2. Local upgrade

Download the firmware from this website and copy it to the machine's built-in storage

or TF card. Enter from Technical Support, click Firmware Upgrade--Local Upgrade,

find the downloaded upgrade firmware package, and click to upgrade.

Notice:

(1) There is no need to decompress the firmware package;

(2) If the upgrade occurs in factory mode and the firmware cannot be detected,

the firmware may be damaged. Press the power button to confirm, select reboot,

and then re-download the firmware and copy it to the machine before upgrading.

System Upgrade:

1. Added new PEQ filter types and compressor sound effects for the system;

2. Fixed the issue where it would not respond to the Play/Pause command by the

    RM3 remote control when playing music on Amazon Music;

3. Miscellaneous performance improvements and bug fixes.

The following changes and improvements have been made to the R9 in FW1.0.3:

System Upgrade:

1. Fixed the issue where the popping sound may occur during playback of certain songs.

FIIO Music Upgrade:

1. Added a Landscape mode for the display (available in Personal - Screen orientation);

2. Added Lab Features - Compressor sound effect (first turn on the Audio Effects in

    Personal - Lab Features, and then go to Equalizer - Sound effects to enable the

    Compressor);

3. Added a new filter type in Parametric Equalizer (available in the PEQ adjusting page);

4. Added control support for FIIO SP3/FIIO KA11/FIIO K19/FIIO KA17.

The following changes and improvements have been made to the R9 in FW1.0.2:

1. Added a brand-new personalized screen saver - Performance Panel (set in the

    menu of Settings-Display-Screen saver-Personalized Screen saver);

2. Fixed the issue where the dropdown menu did not respond after switching back

    from Bluetooth receiving mode to Android mode;

3. Fixed the slight noise issue at the end of some songs when the ALL TO DSD

    function is enabled;

4. Fixed the issue where the Pure Music mode may crash;  

5. Fixed occasional abnormal sound issues when cutting DSD tracks in the FiiO

    Music's streaming playback;

6. Miscellaneous performance improvements and bug fixes.
