The M15S is recently available. As usual, we would like to share some stories behind the design of the M15S with you. The first chapter starts with the differences in its packaging design.



It has been a long time since the M15 has been on the market, so you may not notice the differences in the packaging design and accessories between the M15 and M15S.



(1) The M15S has an extra heat dissipation stand with a cooling fan. Considering that the power consumption and heat generation will be increased after enabling the desktop mode. So, in order to have better heat control, as well as more in line with the operation under the desktop mode, we equipped the M15S with a cooling stand. This not only can help the M15S to dissipate heat, but it is also more convenient to operate and watch the display when placing the M15S on the desktop.

(2) The M15S comes with a leather case. It is worth mentioning that the leather case of the M15S has a new design. It is sealed with Velcro, so it will not loosen easily and the device will not slip off from the case.

(3) Since the M15S supports PD fast charging and has been upgraded from M15’s PD2.0 to PD3.0, the fast charging power has been increased from 18W to 27W, so the stock cable has been changed to C2C PD fast charging cable.

In addition, we also considered the USB-A to Type-C cable is the most popular while the C2C fast charging cable is rarely seen, we included the M15S with a C2C fast charging cable, and also (4) a USB-A adapter for power supply through the USB-A output or connection with a computer.

The above is the increased accessories of the M15S. As you can see, they are very practical accessories that can greatly enhance the user experience.



The following is the reduced part.



(5) There is no outermost kraft paper packaging. The earlier intention of this design was to deliver the product directly without an additional shipping box. We also worried that our individual distributors may pack it with any box which would make a bad experience for customers.

However, we later found that our distributors would still use another box for secondary packaging, which caused unnecessary waste. Therefore, we canceled the kraft paper packaging for the M15S.



(6) In addition to the express box and color packaging box, the M15 also comes with a luxuriously crafted solid wooden box. The M15S does not have that, mainly because the cost of this wooden box is quite high (each costs about 10 USD). For most consumers, this wooden box can slightly delight them when unboxing the product, and some of them used it for storage. All in all, it is not a particularly practical and necessary accessory.

To reduce costs, control the MSRP, and add more practical and useful accessories, we canceled the wooden box.



Some other details of the differences would be skipped. The main difference is the design style of the color packaging box. Overall, we hope that consumers can have the accessories they need instead of some specious ones. We decided to cut them down not to make more money but for a better user experience, because the price of the M15S has been greatly reduced compared to the M15’s, so that consumers can get more benefits.
